Scope of Service
The Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Center (NRC) is comprised of both the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic and the Neurology Clinic. The NRC provides diagnostic, therapeutic and referral services for adult outpatients who are professionally referred to the center. The NRC uses mostly medical intervention but may also make recommendations for life style and behavioral changes in order to provide the patient with the optimum situation for improved health. Each Service maintains an individual Scope of Practice and Credentialing Guidelines.
- The Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic (TBI) provides individualized treatment program that will be developed to take advantage of all of the individual skills our providers offer. In order to maximize recovery, we offer a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of TBI. Our staff includes physicians trained in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, and Psychiatry, Physician’s Assistant, Neuropsychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Psychometrist, Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist/Cognitive Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Recreational Therapist, Case Management. The clinic is also actively involved in research and education in order to help promote our goal of providing the best care possible to our Service Members and their families.
- The Neurology Service provides personalized care for patients with disorders of the brain, spine, nerves, and muscles, teaches fundamental neurologic principles to medical students, residents, and other medical personnel, and conducts research to advance the art and science of neurology and provide meaningful new therapies for our patients. We see patients 13 years and older for a variety of conditions including headache, neck and back pain, seizures, stroke, dizziness, memory problems, neuropathies, movement disorders, and dizziness. The clinic has special clinical expertise in several neurological disorders, including: Headache management, Stroke, Epilepsy, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and movement disorders.
